Poole Open Bowls Tournament a Resounding Success
The Poole Open Bowls Tournament made its triumphant return this summer after the 2020 event was unfortunately postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions. There was a fantastic turnout which showed that the temporary hiatus did nothing to temper the passion so many people have for the annual tournament. Five days of fun and friendly competition was had and the festivities were greatly enjoyed by everybody in attendance.
As previously announced, Royal Bay were proud sponsors of the Mixed Pairs event. Keen bowler and club member Caroline Wilson was on hand to contribute to the success of the tournament in memory of her husband and Royal Bay Managing Director Russell Wilson. Caroline also entered the Mixed Pairs alongside her teammate Chris Kane, and they performed tremendously well on their way to the final, in which they were victorious!
It was an honour and a privilege to be involved in a fantastic tournament that has such a positive impact on the local community. We’d like to congratulate the winners of each event and also commend all of the competitors for showcasing their very impressive bowls talents - it was an excellent spectacle to watch! We’re already excited for next year’s tournament!
